Welcome to Eidsvoll 1814!
The Eidsvoll building is one of Norway's foremost national symbols as the place where the Norwegian Constitution was written and adopted in 1814.
English guided tour is available at 13.30 (runs as a Norwegian tour, if there is no English language need)
The maximum number of people who can be booked per tour is 20 people.
We ask that you show up at the reception in Wergeland's house 10 minutes before the scheduled time and show your ticket.All bags/bags/sacks etc. cannot be brought, but feel free to use our free lockers in Nordre Paviljong.

Find Your Way
By Car
From Hamar it is 66 km to us, Gjøvik is 77 km away, Kongsvinger 70km and Hønefoss is 67 km away from Eidsvollsbygninngen. From the E6, take the exit at junction 55 (by the Nebbenes cafés), follow the signs to the Eidsvoll building and after a few minutes you can park for free in our parking lot.
Tip: If you have a GPS, you can use the address Carsten Ankers veg 17, Eidsvoll Verk as a destination for the journey.
By Train
The nearest train station, Eidsvoll Verk station, is within walking distance (15-20 min. 1.8 km) from Eidsvoll 1814. From the station you can also take the corresponding buses (see below) included in the train ticket.
From Oslo-S via Gardermoen, there are two trains per hour to Eidsvoll Verk (L12 and R11), and the stretch takes 31 minutes.
Travelers from Lillehammer/Hamar by train, must change trains at Eidsvoll station on some departures as not all regional trains stop at Eidsvoll Verk. See Timetable View. An alternative from Eidsvoll station to Eidsvoll 1814 is Ruter's bus number 430 towards Jessheim, which passes Eidsvoll Verk (see below).
By Bus
- Ruter's bus number 430 passes Eidsvoll 1814. The stop is called Eidsvoll Verk and is a 3-4 minute walk from the Eidsvoll building. From the stop you can see the building, and there is a walkway and underpass under the road so it is safe to easily walk. If you arrive by train from Oslo or Akershus, you have a transfer to the bus included in your train ticket.
From Eidsvoll station, the bus takes eleven minutes to Eidsvoll Verk.
From Jessheim station you take 38 minutes to Eidsvoll Verk by bus.
From Eidsvoll Verk train station, take bus number 430 in the direction of Eidsvoll station, and get off at the third stop. This trip takes only three minutes.
The buses run every quarter of an hour on weekdays, every half hour on Saturdays and once an hour on Sundays. Timetables and stop overview can be found on Ruter's website
