About Eidsvoll 1814

The Eidsvoll Manor is one of Norway’s most important national symbols. It is the very place where the Norwegian Constitution was written and adopted in 1814.

The Eidsvoll 1814 Museum is responsible for preserving the Eidsvoll Manor House as a national cultural heritage site and for telling the story of 1814 and Norway’s subsequent political development.

The museum includes the Eidsvoll Manor with its adjoining buildings and park grounds, the Wergeland House Visitor Center featuring the Democracy Center for youth, an auditorium, a museum shop, and Café Standpunkt.

Eidsvoll 1814 is part of the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History Foundation.
